For over 20 years, Mountain Art Festivals (formerly Breckenridge Art Fairs), Mark Beling and Judith Pollock, Directors, has produced outdoor Colorado art festivals which are consistently ranked among the top art festivals in the country. Mark and Judith have lived in Breckenridge since 1990 and have owned their retail jewelry business, J & M Jewelry, located at 100 N. Main Street in Breckenridge since 1991.
With a passion for art Mark and Judith attended art shows full time from 1976-1993, as artists, doing as many as 40 shows a year, prior to beginning Breckenridge Art Fairs (now Mountain Art Festivals). Formerly Florida residents, Mark and Judith moved to Summit County to pursue their passion for art and their love of the mountains, while raising their family of two boys and many dogs.
In 1993 Mark and Judith started with three Breckenridge Art Shows, held on July 4th Weekend, the last full weekend of July, and Labor Day weekend. Today, Mountain Art Festivals still has three successful Art Festivals in Breckenridge.
"I love bringing art to the Summit County community and exposing our patrons to the wide variety of artists that are so uniquely talented. I am very committed to providing the highest quality of juried art shows possible to create a wonderful experience for both the artists and the patrons of our festivals!” says Mark Beling, “The mountain setting of all our festivals is such an advantage, you can hike in the morning, visit the art festival in the afternoon and watch the sunset over Lake Dillon in the evening - what a great way to spend a day!"
This year, with Mark as producer of the shows, we are proud to announce our new show directors: Dick Cunningham and daughter, Tina Cunningham. Dick founded and ran the 3 Breckenridge Art Festivals from the early 80’s to 1992 and has been an exhibiting artist at shows for over 40 years. Having moved to Breckenridge in 1978, he and his wife, Mary, raised their three kids there and operated Cunningham Gallery. Dick now resides in Bonita Springs, FL where he runs his gallery. His extensive experience gives him the unique perspective not only as a director, but as an artist. Tina, a Breckenridge native and current resident, grew up helping her father in the art show circuit. She received a Bachelor's in Business Administration and has a strong background in hospitality management and event coordination.
Art is our passion; we love what we do and want to support community art programs in whatever way we can.
We hope you will visit one of our unique Colorado mountain art festivals. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
